I treat it generally like how I color every thing else with my markers, however I go for more stark contrast than a blending. I like the cold greys, sepia and lt. cerelean blue, slate blue and I some times use the blender marker or the lt greys. You start out with the lighest colors first, remembering to leave lots of white for highlights, then do a little more darker hues but only a few really dark places. I get a lot of inspiration for metal from the Old Jim Lee xmen comics and how they colored Colossus and Gambit's footwear
I've been watching at your art some months ago, I first knew your art in VCL Forum, and I can say something: You've a really great talent, and Im very glad because you use it very very well. I would like to make a comment more extensive and specific, but believe me, Im a little inexperienced speaking in english, I do the best I can, and I hoppe you could understand this I love your artwork, from anatomy to color and shades, and this picture is one of my favorites.
