Lets see. Theres no explosions, so theres a tick there. Nobody is dying, another tick. And she's holding a wand!?!

Oh...wait...its not supposed to be like that. Right <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Doh!" />

Anyway... what i really like about this picture is the colors, (absolutely no complaint there) but the shading on the right hip seems a little rougher than the rest of the shading. I want you to look at the detail that you gave her stomach, and then look at the hip and see how you could incorperate that type of shading into not only the hip, but the entire right side (our left) of her body. The light is coming from her left, but the scarfe draping from the stone on her chest doesnt seem to shade a part of her lower rib cage, but you probably already realized that so i wont harras you for it.

As for her clothing, its looks very origional to me. But I believe the stones could have been taken care of a bit better. That is probably where you were getting frustrated. What I would like for you to try with the stones is draw them like there eyes, and less like stones. If the surface of the stone is round, the little glimer that you see in the eye will be in the same spot according to the direction of the oncoming light. Second try shading it just like it has an vertical eyelid, and the darker right side is the upper lid. The pupil should be the dark center of the stone, which if done properly, will give it a real looking depth to it.

Now by no means do you have to do it my way, but in my opinion, that is the way I would do it. If you would like an example, i would be happy to draw you up one.

Hope this helps you out,
