Xmen K-Mart Critique pls by lady-cybercat Xmen K-Mart Critique pls by lady-cybercat
Ok after seeing the AMAZING freaking job Anathemasremedy did on her Hogwarts piece i was inspired to try to do something similar. I've never been good at multiple subjects or at doing things with distances so I figured why not. It's obviously not done yet, I'm baaadd at humans so I thought I'd let you folks help me make this as good as it can get. Soo see something wrong with this? Think I should change something? Too big? too small whatever, nitpic it to death so I can fix it up before I do the final pencils and inks. Thanks guys!!

I love this. I really like Kurt and Remy's faces and their poses too. Logan...he just can't have fun, can he? :giggle: CAN'T DRAW HUMANS?!?! you want to see not drawing humans, look at about 86% of the people on DA including me, not at this! You did over fabulous on this.
fairypower Featured By Owner Feb 13, 2010
Where did this "I can't draw humans" nonsense come from? It was so good that I didn't even notice the girl's uneven face of slanted counter top until after I read all of the other critque. All in all the size and porportions are correct. You have awesome spacing. Above all else I couldn't help but notice that you did an excellent job with the hands which are the most difficult to draw. Especially when holding onto bags or put into fists.

I don't see anything wrong with the humans O.O In fact, I think you made agreat job in the male anatomy ;) specially Logan's ( his arms look really solid, and his chest wide enough to show toughness ) and the rest ones look really good too.the only thing I see is the girl's face, her chin is a bit long, maybe like if she was squashed. And the table perspectibe look a bit strange, but, I can't draw perspective tables myself, so blegh...
Anywhoo, extremely good piece, gurl! ;) keep it up!

that's awsome. you should color it in
Epantiras Featured By Owner Jun 7, 2004  Hobbyist Digital Artist
very good composition. I my opinion you should draw Wolverine with thicker lines because he's nearer to the viewer - this is a tecnique used in comics.
BlondeChick Featured By Owner Jun 5, 2004
the chicks face looks a little messed up, and her erm...chest doesn't really fit in with the rest of the pic, maybe you could shade it a little more 0.o other then that, very nice
Werebeast Featured By Owner Jun 5, 2004
Just i wish i could draw like that...

WOW!!! i love it!! please Finish it!
JazzChyk Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2004
I like it... but as far as the suggestion of a second character breaking out of the panel, why not have Jono's back be that side's line-- or at least part of it. Might bring him forward a little bit.
But you always do good work either way.;)
cookiesandcream Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2004
Hey, as long as Remy's in it, i don't care what it looks like *laughs* .. grr.. but rogue.. *puts a screen between her and remy* much better now ^___^
hsien-lung Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2004
the angle on the tabletop is too low. It throws off the horizon line of the shot, which throws of the whole pic.

Thats the only thing I really noticed immediately.
GameS-ForeveR Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2004
You're not bad at humans!

Hell, I only draw humans, and I couldn't get anywhere like that.

But, as other's have said, it does seem unbalanced...
Tigerstorm Featured By Owner Jun 4, 2004
as others have said before: You do wonderful work.
I like the panel break with Wolverine, however the picture feels a little too unbalanced, maybe have another character breaking the panel? And I agree with the others, the perspective with the counter is a bit too high, I think bringing it down would solve a couple of problems including the girl's squashed face. The panel break could be solved with pushing the guy on the far left (who is that?) right to the edge of the panel and have him break it.
Just some ideas, I still like your work ^_^

I think you do a pretty good job at drawing humansÖ a lot better then I could ever do. As for something I think that could have some more work is the girlís face like the other people said and for some reason to me Gambitís hand seems funny.
I also think itís great that you put Jono into the picture since I donít see him that often yet he is such a cool gut. But the fact that you have Kurt in there instantly had my attention. Good Kurt. Great work.

I love Wolverine. But I am biased..*ahem* But yeah...he's yummylicious there.
The only gripe I have is, finish the BG...THEN I can critique. ^^; I really can't now...

Wow, this is pretty cool.
You did a great job, especially on Logan.
I'm an X-Men fan, so I can't wait to see this coloured!

Bad at humans?? Bad a humans?! Are you crazy??!!! :eyepopping:
Yes, you're crazy!! This is awesome!!!! I think it looks great, especially the faces and the expressions - perfect! :) Only thing I would personally shange is the fact that Logan has no hips. He's a little too straight down there. But otherwise - parfait. ;) I love the work you've done on Nightcrawler - very natural on such a difficult position. And Gambit... ...You're spoiling me with that Gambit and you know it!!! :giggle:

Can't wait until this is done so I can :+fav: it!!! :D
Raphaella Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004
That's awesome, ah I'm so glad you put Nightcralwer in, lol. I think everything luks great, except what everyone else thinks, the girl's face seems a little off. This'll luk wicked colored, can't wait
irobot Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004
Hey,almost like a comic book cover.
I just wonder what Wolverine carries.
korybing Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004  Professional Digital Artist
Horaay for the X-Men! You get bonus points in my book because you threw in Nightcrawler, the coolest X-Men ever.

As far as crits go, I think the perspective of the counter is too high. It makes it look like the girl (Is that Rogue? Paige?) is going to scootch off the edge because the table is un-even. If you lower the bottom part I think that would make the background go "in" more, instead of making it look 2D, like it's starting to now.

Bah to you and your "i can't draw humans". Logan looks positively yummy.
Flashgriffin Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
Well, it's certainly better than anything I could do freehand. I think it's fine. Hell, I'd post it for good the way it is, but you're right, could use final pencils and ink.

I love Remy... his expression is priceless! And is that Jono, aka Chamber? I've never seen anything with him. He used to be my fave GenXer.
ToniSerinn Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Hmmm I don't see anything wrong with this, except the girls face looks a little wierd, but other than that I'd say you did a pretty darn good job on this ^_^
RickGriffin Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2004  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Only one problem I see after a glance is the girl's face, it looks squashed/one side looks higher than the other. Othat than that, you draw humans better than I do, so I guess that's as far as I'd critique. Nice job!
