Description

Something that I've always wanted and envied in other artists is their ability to create their own ideas for their art and have it be well received and desired.  Now don’t  take this wrong, I love doing commissions.  But I'd also like to do subjects and designs of my own. Unfortunately due how slowly I work some times, it means I can’t often do this. I frankly can't afford to and prints of original art just don't seem to appeal to folks much.  Even selling original traditional art isn’t doing as well as I wish it would.

So I've been looking around at what a few others have done with Kickstarter and Patreon, or just auctions in general. There are some interesting ideas floating about and I wanted to see if folks might be interested in something similar.

Instead of going with Patreon, I was pondering doing a short  Kickstarter where people can vote, suggest / recommend  themes, color schemes and subjects. The more money they donate, the more votes they get for a certain theme.  Everyone who contributes would get a 300 dpi/ppi resolution digital copy no watermark of the piece.  People who donate a certain amount would be listed on the web page where the low rez watermarked copy resides on my web galleries.

I want to keep this simple the first time around, but if you have other suggestions or ideas for 'rewards' for the supporters / backers please let me know.

Also please let me know what you think you and most folks would feel comfortable donating. Remember this isn't a monthly thing. A one at a time project. :)

Thanks to everyone who's supported me over the years. I wouldn't be able  to do any of this without you!

PS don't worry I won't stop doing commissions! :)

I've honestly considered something similar myself and I'd say go for it.
